“People are grief vampires. They just want to suck on your sorrow, feed on your fear, and feast on your failures. It makes them feel better about themselves.”
― Alice Feeney, My Husband’s Wife

Eden Fox heads out for run, excited for her art show exhibition that coming night. When she arrives back at her house, Eden is confused when her key doesn’t work in the front door. A woman who looks eerily like her answers the door. After some confusion, Eden’s husband comes to the door, insisting that the woman who answered the door is actually his wife and that he has no idea who Eden is.
Flash back six months to a Londoner named Birdy. Birdy is a recluse living above a bookstore with her dog for company. She has just been given a life-altering diagnosis which means that her future is about to change.
Who is Eden? Who is Birdy? And who is the woman living in Eden’s house? Alice Feeney has written another fantastic psychological thriller that had me confused, yet frantically reading all the way to the very end. The characters were well-developed, flawed yet so relatable (as all of Alice Feeney’s characters are)! If you like dual points-of-view, unreliable narrators, slow burn mysteries, or just being confused while you read, I highly recommend you read My Husband’s Wife by Alice Feeney.
