Drop Dead Sisters is the first book in the Finch Sisters series by Amelia Diane Coombs. This book was gifted to me by one of my fellow Checked In: A Davenport Public Library podcast hosts (Check out our podcast if you haven’t yet!). I absolutely adored this book.

Remi Finch is the introverted, burnt out, anxiety ridden youngest daughter of the Finch family. Headed out on a camping trip to celebrate her parents’ 40th wedding anniversary, Remi (and her dog) are unsure of what to expect. Remi’s relationship with her two older sisters is complicated and strained, so the fact that she has to spend a long weekend with them and many other extended members of her kooky family is keeping her up at night.

After a particularly hectic day, Remi decides she needs a break and heads back to her campsite early. As she settles into sleep, she hears a sound and bumps into someone from her past that she hoped to never see again. Guy Moran is not a nice human being, to say the least. His appearance at the family campsite is not a pleasant surprise and ends up throwing what should be a relaxing weekend into absolute chaos. Remi and her sisters must bond together to find a way out of this mess.

If you’re looking for a cozy mystery with dysfunctional family dynamics, romantic intrigue, and crime that just keeps snowballing, I highly recommend Drop Dead Sisters by Amelia Diane Coombs.
