Enjoy this guest blog post about written by Ainsley, one of our Teen Advisory Board members! They have much to share about Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One by Kristen Arnett.

A tragicomedy if I’ve ever read one, Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One is a force of nature that blurs the bittersweet with bitter black comedy. The story follows Cherry, a young lesbian who lives paycheck to paycheck. Working at a rundown aquarium, her true passion (and part-time gig) is clowning. She finds a semblance of balance when she meets Margot the Magnificent, a magician who swings that way (wink wink 🧡🤍🩷). Between shifts and gigs, Cherry has to make some important decisions- regarding her family, her friend, her lover and her career. SMIYHTO asks the question, “How far are you willing to go for your art?” I personally really enjoyed this book. Read it at least once. If it’s not your cup of tea, then to each their own.
