For October, we are reading about Filipino American Heritage Month. We are celebrating the arrival of the first Filipinos to the continental United States by reading books that explore the culture, history, and art of Filipino Americans.

In August, we honored South Asian Heritage Month by celebrating the diverse cultures of people from the South Asian countries of Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. We read stories by Indian and South Asian authors as well.
